Owls are in fact monogamous creatures and tend form bonds that last a very long time. Pairs defend their respective territories throughout the year from predators and other threats, nesting in tree cavities and similar places, depending on the species of owl.
Although different owls tend to have different nesting habits, nearly all of them are considered to be monogamous creatures which stay with the same partner for life. Staying in pairs makes it easier for owls to hunt for food as well as protecting the nests they have made in trees, making it an ideal setup for both animals all around.
