There really is no such thing as a domesticated owl, despite what some people believe. Usually when an owl is living with a person it is because they are injured and need time to heal before they can be released back into the wild. Owls have special needs and are simply not meant to be taken as pets like many other types of birds.
These animals belong in the wild as they have not been domesticated like cats, dogs, and many other types of animals which are frequently purchased and raised as pets. In fact you need a special license just to own an owl or else you could face a fairly hefty fine.
