Are Owls Dangerous To Cats?

Although some owls tend to eat rabbits and hares, cats are not typical prey for most of these creatures. While there may be the occasional incident involving an owl becoming interested in a cat as prey, they are more interested in other usually smaller land animals. Great Horned owls are known for hunting rabbits and the like, though cats do not usually fall within their domain of prey.

Those who have experienced problems with owls trying to hunt their cats can do a number of things to reduce the chances of this happening in the future, such as not letting their cats roam free at night as well as calling animal control to have the owl removed.
